Morning All,

Im looking to move out of my 981 Spyder into a 996 GT3. My old man had one alongside his 997.2 GT3 and I fell in love with it. It was just so raw.

I went to try and get his old car back but sadly it looks to be spoken for at JZM.

Nearly all of our cars have come from the team at JZM and id choose to buy a car from them first and foremost but it doesnt look possible at the moment.

So that in mind ive got a few options and wondered it anyone new of the cars histories.

1. Reniassane Classics 996.2 GT3
http://www.renaissance-classics.co.uk/porsche/45-2...

It looks a good clean car, well priced and a fair history. The team at RC are new but seem really honest and had welcomed a PPI from JZM.

2. K400 mk1 GT3 at 911 Virgin
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Ive heard good things about this car, however I do use my cars so would prefer to have a lower base mileage to start from, it is however cheap and had the right bits done.

3. SP Autobahn car
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Again well priced, lovely colour and history looks good. Rev range report looks fine however comes back as Belgian C22 which is a little odd.

I then looked at another car at Eden, and the dealer just worried me - too enthusiastic and some suspicious paint.

Anyone know any of those cars or have one to recomend?

Budget is up to £75k max.

Thanks all

If you want to drive it --- I personally would go for 2.

I know the previous owner ... it will be better than new ... honestly.

And for me, as a drivers car it's great value ... but not selling at a very quiet time of year.

If you talk to Steve McH ... I'll bet that's the one he would go for as well .. to drive ! (He /they sorted the suspension on my GT4 ... )

The SP car is C16 UK car.

The Black Manthey car at 911V is my old car. Personally I wouldn't worry about the mileage, they're built to be used, and whether the car has done 50 or 60k miles isn't going to massively impact your useage/ownership. If you were comparing a 30k mile car to an 80k mile example,it'd be very different.

If you like "raw" my old Manthey car will hit the spot.

Car number three was mine.

I bought it from Porsche glasgow and sold it to SP Autobhan when I bought my Mclaren. Sometimes I wish I still owned the gt3.

Thanks all... in a crazy turn of events our old black cars sale fell through.

So long story short... back in a 996 GT3 luckily this time all mine. Pick up Sat.

Spyder was an utterly brilliant car... but nothing beats a gt3

I get married in two months, so need to balance it. But yes needs doing, dampers and diff need doing i think.

Then it needs an RS wing!!!

Well...if you are going to start tweaking things ... wink

But in all honesty just depends on how you intend to use and at what pace.
For general road driving, no mods needed at all.
For light track use at modest pace, again, std car with a decent geo will suffice.

...then depending on how much or how fast you want to go, I guess I would roughly (in order of priority) suggest:
- geo
- brakes
- motorsport diff
- dampers (though I would only consider this if it is to become mainly a track car)
- other cosmetic/emotive stuff like cup steering wheel / RS wing / wheels / single mass flywheel / etc

Naturally if you do diff or dampers, it will need a geo check/tweak

OPC Aberdeen have a very nice looking GR one . Has a few miles on it (can't remember exactly how much), but spec' and condition looked good and I'm sure there would be room to maneuver on their price.

Thanks, my thought on the diff and dampers was that they'd need refreshing anyway. Pretty sure they're original. Although its only done 30k they're still 14k old.

In terms of use id like a really sorted road car that can occasionally be taken on the track.

From memory the geo on it is quite aggressive, it certainly felt a lot more pointy than the 997 does now. But that is on standars geo (soon to he changed)

I see you have the car you wanted so that is good but Option 3 belonged to a chap from Aberdeen I know for many years and was well cared for. He part exchanged it for a new Aston. I see someone above has mentioned it but I dont think anyone has actually used it since the Aberdeen owner let it go although its been for sale at three different places since (AT, OPC Glasgow and now SP).
