Fuse 22 or 15?
Discussion
I'm due to collect on Sat my DB9 and want to wake the drink so to speak.
So for a 2013My DB9 (DB9.2) which is the correct fuse to pull to help the exhaust burble?
Are there two locations for the fuses?
Any isses in doing this?
If leaving in the fuse does this only open the valves above a certain rmp?
Thanks all knowing chaps and ladies.

Have a word with Simon and i am sure they can pull the relevant fuse at Works or at the very least show you which one to pull in case "Timeless" doesn't allow them to do so.
Hope you have good weather for the pick up and run home.
Have your daughters decided which one is accompanying you for the pick up?

Someone will be along to mention whether its 22 or 15 (on my MY09 it was 22, but my GT8 is 15, so I'm not sure whether that's a model thing or an age thing).
As I think you've guessed (from your post), the circuit the fuse sits in basically allows a butterfly valve in the exhaust to close below 4000 revs, limiting the noise (which allows the car to pass new car regs), above 4000 rpm the valve opens and you get the full effect. So removing the fuse gives you the valve open all the time - its basically how AML would have the car sounding if it didn't have to abide by the regulations.
Apart from potentially annoying neighbours, the only downside to removing the fuse is that there are rumours (has anyone actually experienced this?) that if the valve is open all the time it can eventually get stuck in that position, such that if you put the fuse back in it doesn't open/close normally. To be honest I wouldn't worry too much about that.
But what you might want to consider is one of Clive's switches (http://www.cccharger.co.uk/). It basically replaces the fuse in the box with a relay (about 2 minutes to fit) and gives you a natty little remote control so you can open/close the valve whenever you want (the neighbours will thank you!). GBP70 well spent in my book (No connection etc other than being a happy customer).

+1 for Clives switches. I have one and it's brilliant. It's good to have the option to easily control those valves. And Clive is a top gent too!
+ 2 Works perfectly although as I press it pretty much every time I start the car I probably could have pulled the fuse permenantly.

Yes I’m considering getting it set up the other way around - default open with the button press if you choose to close it (eg when returning late at night)Works perfectly although as I press it pretty much every time I start the car I probably could have pulled the fuse permenantly.

I seem to be in a minority on this, but with the fuse removed I find it a bit tiresome on the motorway. Some kind of switch is definitely the way to go.
yeah a switch is handy for 5am and sneaking out of the village too, without being "that noisy guy with the sportscar" who wakes everyone up ....certainly need switch if you have aftermarket exhaust or de-cat johnnyBv8 said:
I bought a ready made remote control kit for my car, but on my 2010.75 4.7 Vantage it makes virtually no difference, so I'm just going to sell it I think. It was so slighlt that I even removed Fuse 15 just in case mine was an early changeover! Definitely more noticeable on the 4.3.
Agreed....I had a similar experience when I traded in my 4.3 for a 4.7 .....solved by replacing the secondary cats...then it does indeed make a good difference Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
