Speaking of reliability -

what is the highest mileage anyone knows a 9-5 Aero has done????????????????????

I'm up to 61000 and still going strong!! (35000 a year means hopefully nearly 200000 in 4 years time)

Highest 9-5 is 148000 miles, but there must be ones up to 200k by now

Mine had 96,500 miles on it when I bought it last September. Dealer had had it since about June and added a couple of thousand. Just had its first MOT yesterday, so I reckon the first owner was doing 45k a year. (Car originally registered at the end of April 2002.)

My mileage has been much less than I was expecting - a number of reasons - but it now has about 101,500 recorded. Other than a few scratches on the door handles the interior looks like new. There are a few stone chips on the bonnet but not much else in terms of panel maladies. Mechanically it seems sound. There is a slight possibility that a tiny leak is developing from the water pump area - but I have warranty.

Dealer reckons 200 to 250k should be a breeze if properly maintained. I suspect they are right but would need someone doing more miles than I am to prove it!

My 9-5 had 199k on it when I sold it about 6 months ago. It was a 1998 manual 2.3, not an Aero though. Bought it at 82k 3 years previously. The buyer was a lithuanian bloke who ran an operation breaking Saabs and shipping the parts to Russia, so I like to think how my old car is now spread all over the place keeping others going in the East! Bit of a shame really though, as it was running fine but the mileage made it almost worthless as a complete car. Got £1600 for it - a 6-year-old car that had cost the best part of £30,000 new!

That's a little over 14ppm depreciation - less if you take out the tax element of the on the road price. Pretty good I reckon.

My previous car (Omega Elite 3.0) was listed at around £32k new. Sold last Sept at 7.5 years old and 137k miles for 700 p.ex. That's near enough 23ppm. Although I did about half the mileage I din't pey half the list price - just as well really since the unscheduled maintenance costs probably made up the difference.

Hi All

Fairly new to PH and have only just go round to looking at "Saab". Why I'd never noticed the "mileage" thing on Saab Central, I no idea.

Anyway I have two Saabs: an '02 9-3 Aero HOT Conv Auto and a 1994 NG 900S Auto. The NG has done over 200K miles . It was the NG (mainly driven by my wife) that persuaded me to Saab when my XJ40 Daimler finally died. I really like the aero - mid-range acceleration is wonderful!
