Decided to buy allroad 320 ps. Usage is once in 10-15 days long trips, otherwise short trips ( less than 5 miles).

Just trying to figure out the costs involved.

Post facelift (end 2014) to 2015 cars are listed for around 27k pounds in Audi used website. Mileage less than 40k.

Insurance and tax costs estimated around 1k.

Any idea about the service costs? Chances of major work? For one year I know I will get approved warranty. After that how much it costs for extending the warranty?

Throw a registration number into the Audi fixed price website for their prices; a number of the specialists publish fixed prices on theirs also.

Audi extended warranty prices are here:

The C7 A6 is a mature product and pretty well sorted; don't see many issues with the biturbo V6 or its gearbox.

They're very well behaved.

The aluminium bit on front bumper is very easy to mark/dent/damage.

The satin finished bumpers/arches are a faff to repair well.

Most Allroads seem to be poverty spec and in grandad colours.

The panoramic sunroof needs to be cleaned and greased every two years. Take care of them and they're reliable, neglect them and they're a fortune to repair.

That engine/box seem to give no trouble at all.

Bump.... looking at earnest at these - an A6 AllRoad with hopefully a panoramic roof.

Anything to know of a 2014 to 2016 vintage ?
Echoing Dr G ref pov spec – the non-sports seats I had in my 2016 we're about the worst I've ever had to plonk myself on. Uncomfortable over any reasonable distance. Also I didn't like the power delivery – yes, it was very fast indeed, but the gear box was going bang-bang-bang through the gears to stay in the torque band and your passengers were going "can't you drive a bit more smoothly?"

I don't miss it at all.

That really isn't a criticism I could level at a biturbo Allroad - the 8 speed is slick shifting and the V6 has a (for a diesel) broad torque band.

You're probably the first person I've ever heard comment that the car in any capacity lacks smoothness. It's exactly the reason that a lot of people choose one over a normal A6.

To start with I loved it. But you know how it is when things start to irritate you? For some reason I can't put my finger on that car just didn't flick my switch. I loved the performance, but not the way it was delivered. The same gearbox and engine (not biTurbo obvs) in the A4 are terrific.

Sadly haven’t “bonded” with mine and its going back after just two years and 8k - I have a generation I 2.5tdi which I prefer in almost all respects - not sure what it is but the bitdi just hasn’t worked for me - power delivery and comfort have not been an issue. But I went to France last year and towed a car in a trailer behind it and was not impressed - it seemed to wallow and weave at anything above 50mph - when I got home attached the trailer to the old allroad and went for a drive - no issues just took a bit longer to get to 50 - but no dramas. Another thing that annoys me is the auto dipping headlights that think the reflection off road signs is oncoming traffic and dips the lights at just the wrong moment.... Mine is a 2016 sport spec and Audi have offered me £28k trade in which is about 50% of its list price.... good job I got 23% discount when I bought it!!!

Shame really, I'd love to upgrade to C7 from my C5. There will always be few things to annoy you on every model but overall newer models would be improvement over the old. Power, economy, tax, tech toys, etc...
