Blue is sometimes the switching signal for an external amplifier, if you've not got any don't worry about it, I s'pose the manual is of no use?

Sorry I should clarify.

The KEH 4400 is the old unit which I have no documentation for, the DEH 7400 is the new unit which I have all the documentaiton for.

However they are very different.....

What I'm really worried about is this blue wire, it comes fromt eh old head unit plug into the aerial plug (as well as the normal aerial connector).
I've seen that it could be power for an amp which makes me wonder if TVR put powered aerials in Cerberas...somehow I doubt it..

Cheers

As I said..help

I upgraded to a better pioneer unit in my Tusc - the blue wire goes +12v when the unit is switched on, intended for amp, but could be used for anything I suppose. Would be good to rig it to a lighting relay, to turn on the ultra-violet under dash tubes, and the snake lights which have been tastefully glued around the circumference of the windscreen - cool (sorry - had a MAXPOWER moment there!)

Nah, won't be any good for that a it can only take 5 amp loads, it's a remote output wire as said before for switching on amps, electric aerials or boosters.

If you havent got it in your car buy an ISO connecting block from halfords , and wire it into your cars loom then if you decide to change the radio in the future you just disconnect and reconnect all car audio now uses ISO connectors as it stops people hashing up installing the radio

The blue wire is a power supply for the electric ariel and extra amplifiers

Agreed well worth doing, as it makes life a lot easier, I normally do this with my cars.

Thats what I was going, I know in theory it is easier but what a nightmare when you have no idea what the wires in the cars loom are doing.

I now have...

Loom
Wires
TVR connector which is like a landrover one
More wires
ISO connectors
More wires
New Pioneer head unit specific plug

Plus CD controller wire, aerial, and unused amp stuff

Blimey..

If you have a land rover type radio connector go to a car radio shop and buy an adaptor which plugs into the original socket and has the ISO connector DONT start cutting the wires ! fords have a different connector and not ISO but you can buy the adaptors autoleads are the best to go for

The Cd changer should have an IP bus connector and one orange wire to connect to the unit via a constant live

Hopefully i will be installing car audio as a job , got an interview next friday in swindon

If you were close to Dorset i would come and install it for you

heres what ive got in the van
NEVER watch tv on the move though
