I'm getting married in two weeks. Yes I am nervous.

Thing is - as it is a 'special' weekend (special loving at the very least) my thought's have drifted to cars. Not on the day (that's already organised) but something to drive around for the 2 or 3 days before hand. Live in London, marrying in South Wales (we're both Welsh but don't hold that against us).

Anyone had any experiences of classic car hire? Is it all it's cracked up to be?

Or perhaps there's a generous soul out there that might like to lend me his/hers?! (unlikely but if you don't ask you'll never find out!). Happy to pay for the insurance and any other charges etc etc.

It's a topical question because my mates fiancee has just called me and she wants to get him a special car (he drives an Audi A3 so that will be a looooong list) to drive from the church to the reception when they get married(i.e. about 30 minute drive).

She wanted me to lend him the Tiv.......unlikely methinks, but I told her I would look into it. I guess in this case they will have to hire it for the day ?

Sav,

Congrats on the forthcoming nuptuals! Bespokes have actually got some kind of Winter special on at the mo - 20% off the normal 4-day weekend price if you book before the end of this month. Might be worth having a look...

Enjoy the day Oi my man, just got back from our honeymoon on Monday in Wales, have a farm on the west coast just outside Cardigan.

We hired a Morgan from these guys: www.classic-car-hire.co.uk and it was perfect, never missed a beat. Then spent the Sunday and Monday looning round the Nort East in it, when I dropped it back I only had 2 more "free" miles left on it

I thought about hiring a lotus esprit (my long time dream car) to turn up to the church in (well actualy country house, one of those new fangled licenced non-church weddingny thing).

However, I thought her indoors wouldn't be too please if I decide to disapear off into the country side for a decent drive rather than turn up. Especially after all the planning & money & all.
