slipping clutch problems?

Just lately have noticed an acrid smell just after pulling away from the odd junction. Initially put it down to clutch slip, but this should not be right. I was not trying to record 0-60 times or anything. Anybody else noticed this. 111R with 6500 Mls on clock. Are the clutches upto the job, I would have thought they were the ones as fitted to the T Sport so would be original.
