Hi All,

I'm in the market looking for an A7, 2015 or so, for sale under £30k. This will be the main car for me and the wife, and as a result, we'll also need to do daily short runs (less than 1.5 miles) to the station and back. On the weekends, its likely we'll get some distance out of the car (20 miles or so).

So the question is, should I get the 3.0 BiTDI or 3.0 TFSI?

I know diesels hate short runs, but what are the pros and cons of the BiTDI vs the TFSI? Is the performance of the TFSI inline with the BiTDI?

Any views would be welcomed, thanks!

I'd only say that it's a very big car to park, if I was doing short station runs an A7 would not be my choice. I'd suggest you take them for a test drive (if you can find a petrol), my preference would probably be the high output diesel but it's a personal thing, though obviously it won't like the short trips.

Go for the Petrol, the 3.0 BiTDI’s are excellent but will hate those short journeys, however if you intend on doing a long journey once a week it might be okay. If not the DPF will clog up and just cause headaches....
