So I picked up a second hand Audi RS5 from an Audi dealership back in July on PCH. Over the last couple of months the drivers side front break is making the most horrific squeaking sound on light breaking. It doesn't matter if they're running hot or cold - it happens.

Excuse the crappy video but here it is: https://youtu.be/QbFKRIKqxIg

It's under warranty so I took it back to the dealership. They dismantled the breaks and sent me on my way - it was still doing it whilst pulling away.

When taking it back and when getting in touch with Audi customer services I've been fobbed off with "A slight breaking squeak is to be expected from such performance breaks". The head Audi technician even took it out for a spin, only to bring it back and say "Yeh, that's to be expected".

I'm now at a loss of what to do. It's a total embarrassment to drive! Spoiler up, Dynamic mode on - it looks the nuts. But then I pull up to traffic lights and it lets out this horrendous noise!

Any advice on my next steps?

Normal for a RS. Tends to go after some good hard braking and become more common after slow speed stuff in traffic.
You should hear the brakes on my old GT3.

My Audi A5 brakes squeaked similar to yours some months ago. Audi says they cannot get rid of squeaking, however it has been better lately.

Apart from the brakes, how is your RS5 experience?

Same on my Vantage, took 5-750 Miles to sort.

Hard use, heavy braking, it’ll be on race orientated pads and it’s what they do; stop worrying about what other people might think and enjoy it.

It’s ‘brakes’, you can ‘break your brakes’. smile

Thanks guys. Guess it's just something I have to learn to live with!

It's alright. There's a few things, such as this that do make me wish I hadn't swapped my E90 M3 for it though!

Our 2015 C7.5 A6 also suffers from this, its not a performance model but high pitched squeaking usually at lights.

Audi have had it back several times including new discs and pads but it came back!

My last A5 had mildly squeaky brakes but the TT I had before that had proper noisy brakes. The only way to stop them was to brake hard in reverse, that used to cure it for a few days.
