Happy Boxing Day,

I have a 2014 SQ5 3.0 BiTdi which has done 34,000-miles and I am considering whether to have it re-mapped by DMS Automotive.
It's a quick car in it's standard set-up, however I was wondering if anyone has had their SQ5 re-mapped by DMS Automotive... they quote a decent bhp increase to 380+bhp and a fair hike in Torque performance.
I really like my SQ5 and intend to keep it for the foreseeable future, however I am curious as to whether this might be the thing to do / way to go, or not.
Has anyone any first hand experience of this particular re-map?

Cheers all.

Yes absolutely, these engines respond really well to a map. Stage 1 isn't going to push it that hard.

However never heard of DMS and I've been in the VAG world since 2007. Saying that there website does look quite good and not the usual generic remap company rubbish.

I thought they were one of the biggest chip tuners out there

vag scene tends to be REVO, APR, MRC Tuning, R-Tech, Unicorn.

Please do not use DMS.

If you are in the south, I can point you to my tuner who is excellent, very skilled and knowledgable. He is based in Windsor.

Failing that then I'd see if Revo had software. But the bi tdi responds really well to a custom tune.

I'm interested to hear why you state not to use DMS?
As mentioned previously they are one of the biggest tuners in the UK.

DMS are a very well respected in the marketplace. I do however think they are at the more expensive end of the market, which no doubt you pay for their excellent service and awesome maps.

OP, other alternatives are someone like Superchips very well established, offer different options and offer some sort of warranty..

If you have never remapped something before, you will be in for a treat!!

Ive same car as OP, Had it 6 month,s or so, Great car , It had been remapped by the last owner @ riverside racing speke, Liverpool authorised revo dealer, When I bought the car , I thought it was to powerfull for standard, I wrote to last own who gave me all these details, Every car Ive owned has been remapped, So this saved me some cash, Last owner paid £550, mine is 373hp @ flywheel 590ftlb torque, It does go well for a SUV .

I know a remap is best but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by a tuning box, I’ve a BiTdi and put a TDi-tuning one on and it’s transformed the engine, beauty is that for servicing at audi I can remove it leaving no trace.

Email him on Bobbysinghracing@outlook.com
His name is Bobby

He is a veey clever chap. Did all the engine and ecu work on my car and he also owns a 3.0 v6 a4 with 465hp.
Between his car and mine we have some of the most powerful cars of their type. I have done about 30k on my car on various iterations of hardware and software and he also daily drives his A4.

The reason I say not to use DMS is that they are like Revo.
Generic stuff. Not in itself bad but given the cost , not worth it.

A few people I know have used DMS and always had issues. One case caused dpf failure on a friends f3x 335d due to a very rich map.

Thanks for the replies to my question.
I am based in Central Scotland and was considering DMS given the convenience that they would come to me with their 'mobile' service.
I will take a bit more time and look at alternative, local Re-map suppliers, before I commit one way or other.
I really love the BiTdi engine... great balance of performance and fuel economy!
Thanks again.

So it’s been a year. Did you chip the SQ5? I’ve had mine about a year now and wondering whether to do the same. Who did you use? What did you learn?

After much deliberation, I decided not to go ahead with a Remap.
The 'torquey' power delivery in Standard form is still really excellent and I decided just to leave as Standard.
A year on, I am quite happy to remain as is.
Good luck if you decide to go ahead and Remap and please feedback if you decide to go for it!
