How hard is it to get a european exotic car (EU small series approved or nationally registerd one-off) on the streets in middle east countries? Has anyone experience with such a thing? Suggestions how to get these informations about the registration process and the requirements for these countries?

in the uae, generally speaking, if it is lhd and has a chassis plate then it can be registered. however if its the first of its kind then it won't be on any of the rta [road traffic authority] systems so you would have to do some legwork.

could put you in touch with a guy who registered the first ultima in the country, he would know the process.

what is the car?

As Shirt says. If it is the first of its kind, expect to put some legwork in.
Generally it will need some Euro type approval paperwork. We have managed to register both Radical and Bac Mono. The BAC was more difficult as it didn't have full type approval

Note..there are some new rules in place...something to do with another government agency checking and approving the car first...so it may not be as easy as it once was..

The vechile verification is straight forward

Getting the RTA to accept it is an issue

Are you looking to import/sell cars then it really comes down who your local trade partner is

I have a BAC in the UAE and AFAIK none have been registered. I have been struggling with it.

It would be great to get the Ultima contact. The cars don´t exist yet. The point is to get an idea where it could be selled to.

Theses sources are about used cars, not new ones. Thank you anyway.

Money is less an object than feasibility. Of course it´s a show stopper as soon as we had to go into destructive testing.

As with most things the regulation is unclear.

If you want a new car to be brought in it will need to be gcc approved. I have no idea which entity decides what this means. So far it usually means that the car must have certain items written in Arabic on the chassis plate and also on the mirrors...that seems about it

From what I've heard about that car's registration card, the less you look into it the better... have a think about how Ultima might be written in Arabic...

my arabic isnt that good i'm afraid.

very much doubt the uae built low volume manufacturers are performing crash tests. where would they do them for a start?

Let's just say that a certain Japanese saloon has a very similarly sounding name - and when written in Arabic, it's identical...
