Help with wording CV
Discussion
Hi guys, could do with a bit of help wording something on my CV, great at my job but my English skills really aren't the best!
I've been working at a small engineering company for the past 13 years, with it being such a small team I have ended up being second in command to my boss, basically running the place when he is on holiday etc. What's the best way to word this?
So far I'm coming up with stuff like,
"Over the years I have become second in command/assistant to my boss and help deal with the day to day running of the business..." etc etc
I'm not sure how to explain it simply! I'm just a CNC machinist, so it's all hands on getting dirty type stuff so don't want to make it sound too fancy... if that makes any sense!
This whole process is very strange after being in the same job for so long!
This is just for the description section for current job, so just wanted to keep it short and sweet. Was planning to waffle on a bit in the extra info section and will cover everything there.

Write in third person and describe it with an outcome or impact. Without stating any outcome or impact, a potential hirer won’t know if you were any good as the Deputy General Manager!
Thank you! I always did a great job as Deputy General Manager and I'll make sure they know it!
