Which will prove to be the "best" to own of the current crop of GT models
1. GT4 - cheapest and great handling
2. GT3 - perfect combination of the lot ?
3. GT3RS - hardcore but fantastic
4. GT2RS - the daddy ?

I think the GT4 probably offers the best value and fun per pound.

Why didn't you post a poll?

Although, I guess, most people would just vote for what they've got.

All of them, at different times and with different moods (though I have no idea what the 2RS will be like of course).

If pushed, I would vote for the manual GT3.

I guess I should have asked which has the best all round abilities vs the price.
My suspicion ( just my view) is the GT4 might be the best due to low initial purchase price.
The 911 GTS though is wonderful

All are awesome toys but if I was lucky enough to have all four lined up on the driveway to chose from each day, I know for a rock solid certainty I would grab the keys for the GT2RS every time i was going out apart from a track day when i'd put up with the GT3RS suspension on the road for the sublime drive on the track.

So on that basis for me the GT2RS is now and always will be the best of the four.

Thats easy really... The GT2 RS of course.

You sell it for 300k over list then buy a GT3 and a GT4, maybe a nice BMW GS1200 Adventure and 10k left to pay for the European road trip.

Nothing wrong with the RS suspension on the road smile

Yep the 991 RS is supposed to be a very good road car.

GT2RS will be best handling on track of the 4, as it has best suspension and ~same weight as the 3s.

The RSR is mid engine for a reason.

Best, well the 997.2 4.0 RS is king of them all.

Most cars after that are far less involving to drive and of course far easier, and all have EPS which sucks really.

Quite an achievement and, in a way, given that the theoretical and pricing hierarchy (generally) ascends; GT3 > GT2 > GT1, high time that this were the case.

I've driven a 997.1 GT2 (not RS) and, even having owned a 996 turbo for some time, the boost was bonkers - more than a few times I felt the colour drain from my face as I wondered whether I'd over-done the throttle input - but the car was more capable than it was fun. Not to say it wasn't fun, just far, far more capable and demanding than I could fathom.

For me....

1) 997.2 4.0 GT3 RS
2) 997.2 3.8 GT3 RS
3) 991.2 GT3 MANUAL
4) 997.1 GT3

....and I own number 4!

Mmmm, If we re opeining it up to all GT's.

1. 996GT3RS
2. 997 4.0 ( yes, I put the 996 above the 4.0)
3. 991 Gen 2. Fantastic car and big improvement on the gen 1.

To be honest, I'd be happy with any GT car - including the GT4. They are all lovey things.
