What ladies watch for £1k?
Discussion
Im coming into some money soon and would like to treat myself to a watch.
I love watches generally and enjoy choosing watches for men, but women's watches just seem so bland in comparison.
I have always lusted after an automatic, but this probably inst practical as I wear a smart watch day to day in an attempt to improve my fitness.
I have a medium sized collection of sub £200 'fashion' watches (Skagen, Daniel Wellington, G Shock, Marc Jacobs, Christopher Ward), along with a nicer Tag Heuer Link WT1310 (circa 2000) which is apparently quite rare. I could possibly sell this to top up the new watch fund, if its actually worth anything.
I have been searching for a while, and the watch I keep coming back to is the Tag Heuer Formula 1 WAH1212, which I would be able to buy Pre-owned.
This just seems a little unimaginative of me to go down the route of the same brand I have had before. I'd like a watch that is good enough to hand down to my child one day. I'm not too sure if Tag Heuer's have the prestige worthy of that?
Then again, my budget can't quite stretch to other prestigious brands such as Omega, and I haven't seen any that I really love.
I like the Junghans Max Bill watches with metal straps, but I am not too sure if these will feel the same quality as the Tag as they start at a much lower price point, and the glass is plexiglass with a scratch resistant coating. Ideally I would want a sapphire crystal glass as I can be quite clumsy and despite wearing my old Tag for the last 15 years, it doesn't have a scratch to it and looks like brand new. I do however, like that they do a manual wind option.
I tend to like masculine watches, and prefer a black face. I like chronographs, and dive styles. It has to have a metal strap. Nothing to dainty or delicate.
I did have a Christopher Ward ladies watch back when they sold ladies watches and when they were much cheaper, but the quality wasn't anywhere close to the Tag. I have since sold it. Having looked at their current offerings, I am not a fan of their metal straps.
Is there any other brands I should be considering that I might not have thought of?

Steinhart watches are excellent value and the 39mm Ocean One won’t dominate your wrist in the same way the 43mm does (even on men).

Having said that I love my Aquis.
