Nasty pile up on the Nürburgring (apologies if repost)
Discussion
my little experience could be dangerous here.... but I think some of those later drivers really weren't looking ahead.
some drivers of the faster cars often have the least track experience, exacerbating this kind of incident. Ring really has a different tone to it than uk days, great place that it is.

k. So if you see an accident pick your way through. Whatever you do don't stop until past accident.
I was about to ask what the hell he was doing getting out of the car - and then he jumped the barrier and started trying to warn cars which made sense.
Is that the done thing? (Neverbeen)
I wonder if they could have some sort of driver activated warning lights at the side of the track? Accident happens, driver opens a box placed every 200yards or so and presses a button which activates 'yellow flag' lights for five hundred yards (or more on straights)? Might stop some of these issues? Feel for some of the guys who stopped in time, thought themselves lucky then ended up getting wrecked from behind, especially guy with head cam thinking his car was safely off the track.

no. you normally try to pass the incident, and normally stay in your car.maybe more cameras and lights then have lights activated from a control room.

A well known bloke and Ring veteran was killed in May when he ran down the track to warn cars of a danger ahead. Is that the done thing? (Neverbeen)
Why did the bloke stop part of the way through the accident???? I know it seems like a stupid question, but more cars came along and didn't have to stop, so why did he??? I wouldn't dare do that.
The next few people drove through without any problems, so why did he stop there and then run back to alarm the following drivers and panic them into trying an emergency stop so that they slid into his car??? I'd never dare try anything like that.

It's easy after having watch the incident on video to say he should'nt have done that, but if that fella did'nt warn others, without a shadow of doubt there would have still been a pile up except the cars would have been going around 100mph at the time of impact, in my mind he know doubt saved lives!
Another onbaord here of someone trying to get through the carnage
