someone at work is selling their full set explorer 14270, box, papers, tags, everything from new.

offered 2850 from watch finder, so will sell it for that.

good deal?

If watchfinder are offering that, then it's a good deal, and under likely book price.

Do you want it though?

Exactly.

I have seen loads of those sit there for months and months at £3200ish.

Explorer II for a little bit more would be a better buy I reckon.

Nice watch and seems a good buy. Can seem a little small if you're used to some of the other sports models, but very smart and definitely a 'classic'. Moreso than the Explorer II which I always think seems a little unloved.

I think that's a pretty good price. I bought a full set (including punched papers) 114270 about 6 months ago for just a little over that. Looking around now, even allowing for some negotiating room, you are pretty much getting watch only or watch with whatever random Rolex box they have paired it with for what I paid. Full sets are going for quite a bit more.
