Hello to you all, Can’t say there are many car forums where you can talk about engines and different cars, especially rare cars now today.
Lucky i found this and it seems to be solid active forum with people with different cars.

I have an Almera n15 GTi. sr2de. 90.000 miles on it. Only mods are shortshifter. I will upload pictures soon. I’m either gonna use it as track car N/A or maybe go low boost turbo ~8-10 psi.
I also read that many people use nitrous but for track it would be too expensive in long run.

I had a 1997 black Almera GTi back in 2000 - loved it. Not sure a turbo is 'worth it' financially, but a decent project if you are technically minded. There's a Reader's Cars section you can post about your car in.

I’m learning, I know this and that most things i can do myself, since now i got spare car to drive so i have plenty of time.

The sr20de is worth turboing if i can find what i need cheap. An DET swap is also an idea but shipping the DET to my country is way to expensive.

Don't try fitting a turbo, if that's the way you want to go get the turbo engine.

I'd go the other way & fit a set of throttle bodies, as well as head & cams when funds allow.

Getting DET to my country will cost me way more, shipping is almost 2x the engine price. I’m starting with N/A power.

Pics will arrive when i’m done at work!

I used to own Mk4 GTi and Mk5 GTi DSG. The Almera is defiantely quicker than my MK5 GTi. But driving it doesnt feel good haha. But i feel like it’s similar to my Mk4 GTi which was “stock” but worked better than all MK5’s i raced. And no the Mk5 did not have boost leak or anything. It’s just gutless after 140km/h

isn't this the same engine that's in the Silvia? which was a turbo, this is just without it

Which country? I recently shipped a pallet containing a full supercharger kit to Germany for £150. Fully insured. Engine won’t be much more as it’s still a pallet delivery, just taller.
