So many tyres. so many choices. have looked around for ages and had so many differing opinons on tyres for Mk1 elise. Most recommend Advans, some say Toyo T1-R are great... some say they are awful. Performance for money which tyres are best?
p.s. have a look at www.mrtyres.co.uk - having done some research it seems the prices there are pretty good!! :-)

Hi Jonbanff,
Depends on what sort of driving you do and how flush you are.
I think all things being equall nobody would doubt that the Advans are the tyre of choice for a road going elise with the odd track day. Designed specifically for the Liz etc etc.
However, in the real world, if like me you need to balance how much dosh you sink into your Liz against things like food and a roof over your head then you need to look at alternatives.
I've fitted T1-Rs to my motor and I'm dead chuffed. I too was concerned by the odd negative review but at the end of the day, lots of posotive reviews and the price out weighed my concerns.
They are a great tyre for fast raod use and grip well in both damp and dry. Not the ultimate in tyres for the Liz sure, but you pay your money you make your choice!
Now what sizes to go for? Oh no do get me started!
Hope it helps
