my rear brakes rub ever so slightly when the handbrake is off.

How do I adjust the cable to loosen them slightly?

my handbrake cable was really loose, causing the handbrake to pull up really high.

IIRC you can adjust the cable at the left rear, im not sure what the measurement is, its on the cd manual 54 or 72mm are sizes springing to mind,im sure someone a lot more knowledgable will be along to tell me im wrong! adjusts fairly easy though, 10min job.

Drove away with the handbrake on last week, parked on a hill 10 minutes later and the car rolled 4ft.

In for a general check tomorrow at Sinclares, I'll get them to tighten that up a bit.

Just fork out 1k on some sports suspension and a new geo and when they reset the ride height to 110/120 then this takes the slack out of the handbrake cable.

on the S1 they work on auto adjusting screw cam inside the pistons in the calipers, you'll need to take the rear calipers off, brake pads out and then you can screw back the piston inside a little, that should be okay then. You can get a tool to do it but can easily do it with couple of screw drivers, the piston has two like holes in it that you can use to turn it. Hope that helps.
