I took a look at mine about 10 weeks ago and they were pretty tight even after spraying with loads of penetrating oil. The botton hinge could be tightened and was fine, the top one was a bit tricky and I did manage to tighten it a little (I think) but recently my door has decided to drop a fair amount.
It's the top hinge that moves, the part in the door all looks fine but where it fits into the body there is movement, this equates to approx 3/4" of freeplay at the opposite end of the door. When I last looked the threaded fittings in the body appeared to be fine, I haven't had to time to investigate further yet but does anyone have any ideas?

i went into detail of how to fix them a while ago, having done mine. Three things can go wrong
The two short bolts hold the bracket and nylon bush inside the door. The bush can wear causing the door to drop. The centre bolt or pivot bolt, goes through the nylon bush and screws into the brass hex nut. This is a captive nut so it is fibreglassed into the car body. The pivot bolt{M10x75} can wear its threads causing it to wobble but still feel tight in the bush. As on mine. On replacement I would suggest a bolt that is only threaded half way as the threads can cut into the nylon bush causing more wear. The brass captive nut, if it becomes loose causes a more serious problem. It is not accesible so holes in the body need to be cut to refix them. Hope this helps and I hope its not the hex nut

Mine turned out to be the brass nut coming loose in the body.
If it is, you can use a 2" hole cutter (with the bonnet open!!!) to gain acces to the top nut inside the bodywork.
If it is loose it will need the area cleaning to remove loose fibres and then refixing with fibreglass resin imprgnated with glass strands. Don't skimp with P40 as I tried it with no luck. It has very little adhesive property so just came away a week later.
It was not a particulary difficult job but obviously requires the bodywork to be rectifed afterwards.
You can do this without removing the door if you are careful.

You only unscrew the centre bolts,top and bottom, enough to adjust the door height.No more than slackening and retightening after adjustment is necessary.Don't worry,they are long and it only takes a turn and its loose.
Both one direction to raise,both the other direction to lower,and opposite directions to tighten or loosen the resistance on the hinges.ie.tighten the door if it falls open with no resistance.
The shorter outside pair of bolts can be removed but only normally need slackening to alter the angle at which the door fits the frame.ie.if its dropped and catches on the sill for example.
Lots of releasing oil sprayed on all as a prerequisite to any adjustment is very adviseable!
