So this advert popped up again yesterday with a beautiful Alfa at £4250!

Just for fun before I reported the ad to PH mods I emailed them to see how the scam works. This is the second time at least the scammers used the pics of that car. This was the reply, just for awareness. Poor effort tbh you'd think after all this time they'd come up with a better plan to fleece money!

Hi,

The reason for selling it is that I've moved with work in Italy and the company which I work for gave me a new car to drive around and I have no use for this one at the moment. I won't be able to deal in person but we can do everything through a transport company, KEW Transport Ltd (www.kew-transport.co.uk), they are taking care of everything and they can arrange a delivery to your address, the car being already at their warehouse in Leicester. The estimated delivery time is 2-3 working days. If this is going to be a quick sale, I will let it go for £4250 with the delivery charges included. The V5 log book is already signed on my behalf, the car will come with 2 keys, all service records and previous MOT's. If you decide to buy the car just contact Kew Transport department that handles the sale directly at sales@kew-transport.co.uk and they will assist you with any questions  you might have regarding the transaction.

When contacting the KEW Transport please specify my name Annie Parker and the car make and model.

 Best regards,

Annie Parker

Interestingly, there is a website for
http://www.kew-transport.co.uk/contact-us.html
When you Google the address it's just a terraced house lol. Is there an online police /fraud sysyem where you can pwrhaps pass on details?

So how does it work?

Are they relying on you sending them 4 grand before the car shows up?

Seems an odd car to try it with. I would imagine that most people planning on buying a super cheap 105 would want to see it first.

I have no idea how they expect someone to chuck £4k at a Leicester based shipping/escrow company in order to get a car delivered to view. the "website" appears to work, as does the company number in companies house, but its not a large trading company by any means and looks suspect. they claim to give 24hrs viewing etc etc.
this is the 2nd or 3rd time at least this month the same advert has been posted on PH (and banned promptly by mods after i reported it). the step front and other 105s are becoming collectable and expensive, prices are on the move, £15k would be a steal for a car like that so maybe they are hoping for an impulsive greedy collector? who knows.

this was "Annies" response to my enquiry...

I believe their target is a collector that thinks this is too good an offer to turn down so perhaps getting carried away and not thinking it through.

They will get the money and let you know the car is on it's way, it never turns up and they won't communicate with you any more.

I'm intrigued if the shipping company is all involved in the scam or is being used. The company number and name is legit with the address. The accounts give nothing away other than the fact they don't do much :-)
The email address given is a gmail account it would be interesting to speak to them perhaps and find out if they are part of the plans :-)

Too late suckers . I bought it.

Just waiting for delivery. It should have arrived yesterday. I imagine they are having it cleaned or something.

I doubt that very much. I paid them last week for it, but they are having trouble with their delivery lorry, so I havent received it yet.

Not to worry though, I'm sure it'll all work out.

What with this and the Nigerian generals widow sending me some money soon, I think things are on the up and up.
