Quite interested in one of these for a bit of fun.
Like the look of the 595 Competizione but I can’t really see the difference between the two models.

Is the main difference just the lack of rear seats in the 695?

Also regards to the models - is a 595C a ‘lower’ model than the 695?

Seems to be a confusing (to me!) array of different specs in each model (Comp, biposto, record etc...)

Like the look of both these, but not sure I could spend £50 k on one!

And I’m 6’3” - would I fit?
Cheers

595s are effectively the 'Standard' range;

595 (140/145)
595 Trofeo (160)
595 Turismo (160/165)
595 Competizione (180)

Models with 'C' next to it are Convertibles.

The base model is just that.

Trofeo is a limited run (we were told anyway) example that has track maps, lap timer, Koni suspension & the Monza exhaust plus a remap.

Turismo is the 'upmarket' model with leather, parking sensors, shiny bits etc. Has Koni rear suspension & more power.

Competizione is as it suggests - big sporty/upgrade spec with aftermarket parts - Sabelts, Brembos, full Konis, Monza exhaust etc and more power.

695 covers some special or limited run editions;

695 XSR
695 Rivale
695 Biposto

XSR is related to a Yamaha partnership I believe, from what I can see it appears to be a mix of Turismo/Competition but also has an Akrapovic exhaust IIRC.

Rivale is a luxury model partnership with Riva yachts - it's also like a Turismo/Competizione combination with some pricey options and unique-to-model details and paint.

Biposto is effectively a toad legal track version - the one with no rear seats and options for a sequential gearbox, plastic windows etc. These are expensive...

There are other 695 Models that are older offerings too I believe, also a couple of other 595s too (one was a 595 Yamaha Edition)

I'm not an expert on the Abarth range, just my observations from researching in the past when we've bought our two...

That’s great info - thanks very much for taking the time. Much appreciated.

I guess the Biposto Record must be an old trim level as it doesn’t appear on the configurator now.

The Biposto Record is still on the site under ‘Special Series’ on the main menu, but is no longer built.

https://www.abarthcars.co.uk/abarth-specialties/695-record

There are a few very low mileage cars around at Abarth dealers.

Cheers, I found that right at the bottom of the Abarth page in the small print

Am I to assume the Record doesn’t come with a radio?

The biposto comes with no stereo, no aircon and no back seats. It only comes in series3 body style and comes with 190bhp over the Competizione it’s a BMC OTA filter, front mount intercooler and carbon bumpers.

As above a few low mileage ones about for good money but they’re all the bottom spec, plenty of optional extras that soon bump the cost up like the gearbox and carbon door cards.

Any 595 is a "production" car, produced at the factory and delivered to the dealers/customers. Any 695 car is "hand prepared", in as much as it's built at the factory, goes to Officine Abarth, gets stripped and rebuilt by one of the Abarth loonatic/nutter/enthusiasts who work there. Found out today as I'm working towards Abarth specialist, so learning all about Abarth, it's history and heritage. I'm spending tomorrow with 595's and spiders at a certain top secret test track with skid pans, somewhere in the midlands...

thanks for posting the details.

I love these cars (since I hired one from Vienna airport) and drove it to Tuscany, then to Cinque Terre.

Frustratingly I don't have the space, and the OH just bought a standard 500. I would absolutely have given her the difference but she didn't want the Abarth!!

A top spec 595 would be the Competizione for 695 derivatives the Biposto is likely to be too hardcore but for a daily I’d be looking at the 695 Rivale or 595 comp.

We're now looking into the 696 Rivale as it ticks alot of boxes. The only issueis over the internet my wife isnt sure about the two tone paint job.... i think it looks fantastic but it is her car so we're going in to see one in the metal this weekend.

I've read the running costs are quite high in terms of servicing. Is that just internet perception or reality as these things need servicing every 6,000 miles!

Certainly being use to BMW / MINI servicing it seems steep in the schemes of a 1.4 turbo engine car?

The manual for my 595 says servicing is 1 year / 9,000 miles.

Not sure where you’ve got the 6000miles servicing from. As above it’s 9,000miles per service try and get them to throw in the service pack then you’re sorted.

You do know you can buy all the parts separately and create your own 595 ?

So you could save a lot and buy a 2 year old one and then go shopping.

I got my full Koni set on ebay brand new for 300£ (for example)

absolutely, however wife likes to get a new car, she doesn't like me messing with the car so a already breathed on 595 Comp with the bits we like seems ok to me.

If the weather calms down we're off on the weekend to test drive a automatic. Fingers crossed

Performance pack needs a gearbox service at 6k miles then every 18k I believe. The main servicing is 9k.

I know the OP was asking and this has now been bumped but I'm 6'3 and love my 595 Turismo. I did get a steering wheel extension fitted to make it more or a natural driving position though.
