Hi all, I am thinking about putting a stainless exhaust system on my 2007 997 Carrera 2 3.6, as they seem expensive, I only want to do this once and am looking for good advice from your experiences..... at the moment I am thinking ‘ Milltek ‘. 😐

I would go Cargraphic, Miltek is cheaper and always1st to market which makes you wonder what testing goes into it, also too many product fails by that company imo inc. a car I bought 2nd hand with one a 350Z which failed at the welds.

I would not use the products unless is was a simple £100 decat pipe.

Audi forum "fails at the welds"

Fiat forum "If it fails again im binning it. After my first experience with Milltek i vowed never to buy one of thier exhausts again"

Toyota forum "I've had my Milltek fitted for just over a year now and was really pleased with it until I discovered this: It's leaking badly,"

BMW forum "Loved the sound, but the cats failed pretty regularly."

your choice though ;-)

I have just ordered a Kline. Not cheap but excellent reviews. Try Felix on the contact form
And see what deal he can do for you.

Ive got one of these fitted with stainless manifolds as well -

Sounds absolutely epic on loud mode and nicely just a bit more throaty than stock on quiet mode.

Very, very good build quality, nice welds and fitted like a charm - you will need new tips though (I tested the original tips in case and they’re just too small/cant be flared out either).

If you’re in Cornwall it’s no trouble to meet up to hear it.

Cargraphic. Cost wise, probably what you'd expect to pay for an exhaust for a Porsche. Sound great and very well made. FVD arent bad either. Kline inconel if money is not an issue.

I researched for a bit then bought a new Cargraphic exhaust for my 2007 997 C2S as I thought I wanted something more fruity, sound-wise, but within a month of it being on the car I decided I much preferred the sound with the factory exhaust and so the original one went back on again...

Have a listen to a few different ones if you can and decide what you like, as it is pretty subjective.

I thought the Cargraphic was a decent exhaust but for me, the induction noise and the mechanical sound of the engine when giving it the beans is more appealing, and the louder exhaust drowned the engine noise out a bit. It was also unnecessarily loud and farty at very low revs as well (I.e. pootling around town or parking), and for me, the factory exhaust just suited the engine better.

My 2p. Maybe I'm getting old! https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/10.gif

Good luck.
