O/T credit card holograms

not that i'm very sure what is considered off topic but i figure this is along those lines, but my question is this?

why is the hologram on credit cards always william shakespeare!?

I think you'll find that there are three or four different holograms. The one you get on your card depends on which company (not the bank) provides the car (Visa/Mastercard/Amex/etc)

I actually know the answer to this - a mate's wife works for one of the companies that manufactures the holograms.

It's all due to one of the machine operators being a petrol head, he listens to a CD of engine sounds all day on his discman and when he was asked to produce a new batch of 'cards' he thought they said 'bards' and the rest is history.
