Just how stupid do Nigerians think we are?

Well thanks to the Nigerian (I'm guessing here but it has the correct MO) that has screwed up my ebay sale of my Motorbike 
Does anyone actually fall for these scams
Just sent him a nasty email telling him to get his arse round here with the cash sharpish or I'm taking him to court, but I don't expect to see him anytime soon
He has already closed his ebay account 'cook867'
And I'm guessing the details he registered with aren't going to be much use....
And the email address cook_homes2004@yahoo.com isn't going to help much but if anyone wants an address to send spam to feel free to use it
So what do I do now? Done a 2nd chance offer but thats a '0' feedback ebayer as well so at this rate I'll be getting 2 cheques for over the odds, and none of them worth cashing

other goods i bougth from MR GLENN in SCOTHLAND . I
have informed my transporter(shipper) of my intension
to buy this from someone in UK he did assured me of
easy shipping. pls let me know if you are okay with
my method of payment and shipping. if this
arrangement is okay with you,do forward your full
details so, i can forward it to my associate
immediately to issue out payment to you as soon as
possible.

Well just got his reply to my 1st email, you've got to love the chaps spelling, it makes mine look great
Now I'm thinking, get the cheque posted to my neighbours house, his dad pops round and picks the mail up as he's in one HRH's hotels see's my name on it and gives it me, I then open another bank account with the cheque and wait for it to clear

yep and take the cash and run before the bank realise, put the responsibilty on the bank to check these things properly.

Now I was thinking open a new bank account with the cheque, wait till it appears to have cleared then close the account and draw it out as cash, and if the bank account was opened in another name and address to my own who is going to chase me

The ones that think I'm stupid enough to think they are going to give me £45m for helping Prince Umbongo getting his cash out the country, and everyone of them that wastes our time and money on ebay, Autotrader and every other online classifieds section by telling us they are doing us a favour by paying over the odds and getting us to forward them the difference
the header probably does come over a little general, but I'm really pi$$ed off as I needed to sell the motorbike quickly and this muppet has screwed it up, I had loads of genuine interest and a 0 feedback registered for 5 minutes foreign scam artist makes a mess of it
So what proof do the likes of Cash Converters need to cash a cheque?
I've all ready told him to make the cheque payable to just my initials, Mr. Chris Andrew Steven Hedley don't mind them taking a cut of the scums money, he can have the change when he comes for the bike
