How many C6 owners are on here?

We got ours earlier this year, not really had chance to get round to posting up about it yet!

There have been ups and downs, there have been a few more issues to resolve than we had hoped, but the car itself is great, we've both owned (and still own) a variety of cars, including some quick Porsches, but the sheer grunt from the LS2 is still a thrill even several months on.

Next jobs are resolving the appalling wiring bodges done (I believe) by a supposed professional outfit who do the UK conversions, less said the better I think but suffice to say the work is not good... On that note does anyone have any c6 Ballasts/HID lamps tucked away from having gone through the SVA or even some broken headlight units with the ballasts/bulbs intact? I'm asking as the geniuses who did the SVA conversion took the HID off to put halogen in so it would go through the test, then didn't replace them, or make a blanking plate for the bottom of the light units so they are full of crud....... Like I say bodges.

Eventually some work on the exhaust system will be in order as it's so quiet, an air intake and improved rocker trunnions.

I also noticed the other day when it was up on the ramp that the spring pads/ride height adjusters are very tired (bearing in mind our car has about 25k on the clock it's not mileage related) so hopefully will go through the MOT in a weeks time, so my next job is to replace those, you can get a replacement from America for not much money thankfully, all 4 including post come in at about £70, but having read reviews and based on my experience of modern rubber products on the classics I restore I don't expect them to last long at all so I'm going to make some out of Delrin like the Lingenfelter ones that I suspect require a small mortgage to buy. But it's something I suggest all corvette owners check as they have a direct effect on handling and I bet quite a few are degraded out there.

There's a small piece of the NSF wheel arch liner missing that I'll need to get in from America but that isn't too hard to get thankfully but other than that it was really clean under there which was nice.

Already we have replaced the interior door release buttons which seem to wear very quickly, really cheap and quick job to do though and well worth doing, transforms the interior back to looking new again, swapped the standard stereo/changer for a double din android unit with USB/handsfree and rear view camera that went very well and looks close to factory. Oh and repaired the boot lock/release assembly which had been manhandled/damaged. Also coded in a new key fob and got some spare keys cut up.

Overall it's been a good buy and we are thoroughly enjoying it. Sadly don't see many others in Yorkshire.

So what's hiding in your garage? Any other C6 owners lurking?

Have a C6 Z06 up in the North East.
Haven't done much to it so far, only wheels, tyres, Borla exhaust and tints.
Will be getting the heads changed in December due to the valve guide problem.
Have ordered an AFE stage 2 intake from Nemesis motorsports.

Looks good! The killer I'm finding with exhausts is the shipping cost, most bits are far from expensive but exhausts just go in to the almost cheaper to fill a crate territory.

Would recommend trying Keith from Eurovettes.com. He regularly imports containers and takes the hassle out of ordering parts from the US.

No problem. Many of us in the Corvette Club order parts through Keith.

I recommend taking a look over on http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/index.php?sid=20577...

Very helpful guys over there. It's often quiet in here on PH.

Welcome to Corvette ownership by the way!

C6 Z06 over here.. Down in the South East near Bromley.

Have a few things done to her and she is a beast! I managed to pull off a 170mph which I think was the fastest stock displacement Z06 in the world.

Mods are:

- Vararam Intake
- Atomic Intake Manifold
- Nick Willams 102mm TB
- Custom headwork from Straightline Performance in Illinois
- Lumberjack Cam from Straightline Performance in Illinois
- Monster Clutch LT1-S clutch and flywheel
- 80lb Injectors and E85 setup
- Mickey Thompson E/T Streets
- Forgestar F14 in bronze burst (Still not installed as car is in warehouse waiting to be road legal)
- Custom tuned by yours truly (Was the in-house tuner for several garages around the world and now remote tuner and consultant)

Very nice car 😎
Do you tune vettes for others and can you adjust settings?
I'd like to get the drl's working again as I believe they switch them off on euro models

For Euro cars GM apply RPO code T62 "Delete Daytime Running Lamps". You would need to find out what is involved as the DRLs are linked in with the indicators and it may not be simply a case of switching them off. I'm sure it can be done though.

There is another RPO code which may also have an effect - T90 "Signalling and Marking, Export"

In terms of exhausts have you considered having one custom made? I looked at a fair few options of getting one over from the states but in the end found a really good company that fabricates exhausts for all manner of cars. Ended up much cheaper than shipping one, and you can obviously have it built to your spec (which in my case was as loud as possibly!)

I went along to a local chap who builds them and to be honest the price was ridiculous.

However all being well the exhaust situation is sorted!
