Been approached by my manager about the Workplace Pension in the last week. I already contribute to my own personal pension and work put some in too. They are offering to put some more in as per the regulations or what ever, so my question is, do I have to put in the 4% or what ever it is of my pay packet in addition to what I already save or will the excisting contributions count?

My wages vary enormously due to the seasonal nature of my job, so I put a bit in each month then often chuck a lump sum in somewhere (pension or stocks and shares ISA) depending on how much spare I have left over when the season ends.

Fanks.

Forgot, not keen on having and additional, separate pension due to the fees which I feel eat into my pot too much, so to me it makes sense to have one pension.

Fanks again.

If it's not compulsory to join their scheme and they're happy to contribute to the one you have in place I should rip their arm off.
