S4 interior upgrades

I was at JAE for the Lotus of Los Angeles open house this weekend. They had some V8 replica shifter gates in brushed aluminum and chrome. They said they had shipped a bunch of them to S4 and SE owners. So has anyone fitted a V8 shift ring to an earlier car? If so easy/hard and how did you do it?
