My cars been off the road for a bit and while it was in bits the tax expired. I was absolutely certain I would have the car ready within days so got another tax disc. Needless to say a couple of months passed and now the car is running again can I find the tax disc?... Can I buggery.

Is it possible to get a replacement for the remainder of the term? If so, does anyone know who I can call to arrange this?

Thanks very much,

Mark

First port of call should be yur issuing post office, they should be able to start the ball rolling as they or at least the main post office should have a record of the original transaction, notice the over use of the word should! Good luck.

Duplicates are available for about £7. The DVLA just check the records, see that you have paid up, issue a second one - job done.

Cool, how long does this process take? I'll phone the post office tomorrow as I can't wait to get back in the car now

Thanks,

Mark

When we need replacement discs for our fleet (I work for a hire car co.) it is done same day, someone at HQ (in Hounslow) wanders down either to local DVLA office or main post office. Not sure which. They have DUPLICATE printed on them, so I guess it's more likely to be the DVLA...

A V20 form from the post office is required apparently.

Cheers,
