Driving Position

I am starting to think that not all S's have the same driving positions, well S2's anyway
Speaking to the guy at the garage where I am having mine serviced, he also owns an S2 and says there is more room between his legs and the steering wheel (the steering wheels are the same size) also my seat looks like it may be higher, all of this doesn't help when you are 6'3"!
Am going to have a go adjusting the seat, even try taking the seat out and see if I can lower it???
Mine is the wooden dash, wonder if theres any difference there, or if it's the steering column...hmmm...

I had the same problem with my old 3000S and sold the car because of it.
Recently I mentioned this and Adrian Venn was saying that there were several pedal boxes available, I think that there are long and short pedal boxes on the S series as well, I'm sure mine stated long on the original order.

Well the pedal box type was an option on the S3

Pedal box....didn't even think of that! Although not an easy thing to change I imagine. I might be better off with a new steering wheel, maybe 12" to replace the 13.5" original

Well it was only £38.00 as an extra from the factory!

what exactly are the modification, does anybody know? And is it reversible?

My brake and clutch seem ok but the accelerator need telescopic legs...

Yeah, but £38 in the eighties = a lot more now!

I would have thought that long or short pedal boxes are for all functions not individual.

I took out as much slack as I could, at the engine end - I think you still might be right though...

Been trying to find a half decent smaller steering wheel, 12" would be good, but there's not a lot of choice, especially if you want wood effect. I am thinking about a normal leather one, but with the wooden dash it may look a bit funny?

I think most of them had a leather wheel / wood dash originally anyway? Looks ok IMHO...
