Anyone know about BBQ type gas?
Discussion
There is currently a 13kg yellow tank attatched to my BBQ.
Written on the tank is:
'Aita gas'
Butane
13kg
Lpg Gas
Should this be attatched to a BBQ? The reason I ask Is i am trying to use it and the BBQ is not generating any heat, but i have never seen a yellow gas tank for a BBQ, and this one came with the house...

Well according to Calor, you can use Butane or Propane...

Ok, i was worried that butane was bad, so thanks for that..must be a prob with the BBQ...
Did you try closing the lid? (Not to be a smart alec.) If your chicken was frozen and not thawed all the way, or if it has bones in it, it will take longer to cook. You can never quite get the same heat outside as you do in an oven. We've had to sometimes finish stuff in the oven or microwave. I thought most BBQs used propane.

The chicken was not frozen and the BBq doesn't have a lid, its a fairly big affair which is half hotplate and half BBQ. I am used to BBQ'ing on a Webber and what I was cooking would have been done in twenty mins on one of those, this thing is slooooow...
The gas is fine for the purpose, but not enough of it is being burnt. Maybe the regulator's buggered or maybe the jet or the valve on the barbecue is. Or maybe it's just a crap barbecue. Charcoal is better. For extra zing you can soak the charcoal in sodium chlorate solution and let it dry.
