Hi all,

I have a second job interview where in the first there was mention of having to spend "maybe 1 day a week" at the employer's other site which may be some 30 miles and 1.5 hours away. The initial attraction was the first site which is only 15 minutes drive from home.
Do I ask at this 2nd interview for more clarity (ie how many times per week and if I get petrol money)?

thanks

I would definitely ask, yes. An interview is a 2-way process.

Yes.

But perhaps use a term like 'mileage allowance' rather than petrol money. Or ticket cost as 1.5 hours each way in rush hour may be better traveled by rail and taxi each end.

Don't forget that you may need to change your car insurance to Class 1 Business as it is no longer a single commute to one location.

Your insurer can advise if you need to. It may cost you nothing or just a few £.

I may also be wrong, but don't forget to ask your insurer!

Ask if the additional commuting time is part of your contracted hours.
