Just thought I'd share some insights from both recent hiring activity and a clutch of CV reviews I've conducted this week; I'm seeing more and more that are just a wall of impenetrable text.

It seems some folk still want to put every little detail of their full working career down. This makes them tiresome to review as it's hard to speed read and determine what the candidate is offering. When you may have 30 or even 50 to get through to get to a shortlist for interview, they just don't make the grade and some good candidates could be missing out.

So; less is more! Keep it light and keep it relevant. If a hirer can spot quickly that you meet the essential requirements of the role then you're more likely to get through to interview.

Hope that's of some value.

Thank you. I haven't updated my CV in 15 years, but may need to soon, so very useful!
