I fancy a little flutter on the National tomorrow, just for fun, but like thousands of others , I'm pretty clueless.

Any advice or tips?

50p each way on 10 horses picked at complete random. Always works for me, seriously!

It's only for a bit of fun! A couple of quid just to make the race more exciting? Don't be such killjoys

Nothing carrying more than 11 and half stone
Nothing French (apparantly no French winners for over 50 years)
Look for horses that regularly finish
Look for horses that have been placed recently (form counts in the National)
Go for one of the top 6 in the betting.

Haven't actually looked at the horses yet so no names I'm afraid!!

I have backed forest gunner to be the first horse to win the national ridden by a woman not because I know a lot about the horse but because I like women(and it's the favourite).I have also had an each way bet on last years winner Amberliegh house.

In the office sweepstake I have Forest Gunner and Artic something.

I am so annoyed as when I was little dad met Giner McCain and he sent me a load of pics of Red Rum as a foal and him growing up, along wiht letters about his training and how he felt when Red did the triple.

I lent them to someone at school and they never gave them back to me, I am buggered if I can remember who it was as well so cant track them down.

A little pice of history lost

£10 E/W on Marcus Du Berlais @ 22-1 this morning.

It's a name thing after my son. The owners named Marcus too.

It's a good horse, third in the Irish National last time out, top yard & good heart.

Good luck punters
