Hi,

I have an S2 with the 'TVR S' decals down the side. I have been debating whether to take these off for a while now. Current thinking is to remove them, what do you think?

Next question... How would I get the things off? I have heard that a hot air gun is the best way? Any suggestions?

Thanks Guys
Ian

I am in the process of taking mine off. Don't use a heat gun as the paint may blister. A hair drier is the best thing. It leaves some glue behind which I got off using "T Cut". Someone else may have a better idea.

I think the stripes were the thing in the late 80's. I worked for a motor factors then and they were being put on everything

Yep, hair dryer only and then glue remover from B&Q or T Cut.
BTW
I was looking at the original order for my car and noticed under decal colour, omit.
So they don't have to have them to be original.

I was thinking about a re-spray, but also would like to keep my stripes! Does anyone now of a way of acheiving both! (the guy who would do the re-spray said they would have to go!) :-(

When we had a car in the paintshop with a stripe that we were unable to replace we used to mask the paint around it with low tack tape then cover the stripe with vaseline then remove the tape again, spray the car and when the paint had hardened, give the paint a wipe with a polishing cloth and the paint used to just wipe off the stripes because the vaseline had prevented the paint from adhering.

Surely a reasonalbe Decal company could make you up a new set (its got to be better than trying to spray around them) I'm not sure who Ted uses for his PH sticker stuff, but they might be a starting point.

Excellent, Thanks for that. Will look into both options.
