supplychain purchasing

I am applying for a role in this area, something i have a bit of experience but not a lot. it is raising involves and POs so wondered if anyone has done a role like this and any pointers for the interview.

Supply chain administration the details are vague but advises raising cap-ex.

If it's admin then the key areas you need to demonstrate competence in are getting the PO right (since it's the basis of the contract) and then ensuring that the supplier delivers the right thing on time - expediting the PO. Must be a small company if they want you to deal with invoices too?

ok thanks, it is a multi-billion pound company. job description is vague.

There's a bit more to it than throwing a purchase order at a company.

Selecting suppliers
Issuing RFQ
Selecting and negotiating price/terms
Purchase order
Delivery details (I worked with Boats. They never sit still. This is a problem)
Invoice / delivery / RFQ matching.

If you're doing invoicing, it will likely be rejected if you get it even slightly wrong. And it's not easy to just simply amend with some ERP systems.

And lots more.

Most companies will use ERP systems. ERP System depends on the company. It's good to have experience in SAP et al. But I did see some big companies using simple spreadsheets.

my experience is in sap, more production and stock control, mrp. this role is purchasing. i have a little experience but not a lot.
