Insurance Companies - They're not all bad.....
Discussion
Well, okay, most of them are
But Admiral are spot on.. not quite as cheap as Direct Line, but the people on the phone are good and get the job done, even when you have a claim.
In well under ten minutes, just got my France cover for Folembray, added Smifffy as a second driver (they were scared, but compliant ) and got prices for cover of the TVR S2 I'm looking at.
They'll cover the Tiv as a temporary addition to my existing (Primera) policy for £15.75 a week. Unlimited mileage, garaged. They mentioned no time limit on this arrangement. Even if it's only a month (likely) it gives me time to find the right policy.. and in that month I can drive the Tiv everyday before the winter comes and I buy a 3000 mile limited classic policy. Or until stuff falls off it
Oddly though, I'm renewing with Admiral at the moment and as an existing customer with 3 yrs no-claims, my renewal price is the same as my wife would pay to take up exactly the same policy - and she's 30 (I'm 28) with 7yrs no claims. Odd, but suits me sir..
Anyway... I'll probably be calling them all the names under the sun again next month, and I've never forgiven them for that advert they ran earlier in the year, but for today, they deserve recognition for providing the customer service that's so sadly lacking in most companies we deal with from day to day. A great relief.

quote:Had a claim early last year - they were very good indeed.
Customer Service is always an Insurance companies stong point when they are taking you money , but it really starts to count when you make a claim! And I'd put money on them being the same shite as the rest of them when that day arrives!
I had a claim with Admiral and I would have to say they were very good. (charged me for wear & tear on the tyres that were replaced tho)
Only problem I found is I suspect them of offering a low price to get you in, and then bump it up each renewal. If you shop around you can knock 'em back down again. However, if I shop around I like to go with the place that gives the low quote, rather than the one that will match it. So I moved on.

Have to second the sentiment that they're not all bad.
I wanted to do a track training day last weekend, I'm with Classic Line who cover you, like Mannings for TVRCC track days, but not other company ones.
I spoke to them about the fact that it was a 'training day' etc and the guy (darren) said to send him the details, spoke again the next day to see what was what and he'd already spoken to the underwriters and arranged the cover under the existing policy, letters in the post to confirm .
When I got the letter it turned out that darren signed the letter as 'director', so I obviously spoke to the right chap .
