Quangos 1 - UK Manufacturing Nil

something to do with the terms of the loan and EU regs IIRC.
If suppliers change their payment terms from 45 days to Cash on Delivery it is a lot for a business to contend with - especially one which is so cash & asset poor.
How far should a government go to supporting an unviable business?
As Sir Digby Jones says:
"It would have been wrong for taxpayers' money to have gone into propping up the business when frankly there would have been other car manufacturers who make Britain such a quality place to build cars....Nissan and Honda, look at Toyota, look at Vauxhall, Jaguar, Ford, Peugeot.
"It's not right for government to try and pick winners amongst those."

I wonder how many people that are up in arms about the demise of Rover actually put their hands in their pockets and bought one? There are plenty of buyers who bought elsewhere simply because the product wasn’t good enough. Any company who does not keep on top of their game will go skint and rightly so. Throwing good money after bad has never been a good idea when you have little chance of ever seeing it again.
As to other areas where money is being wasted in this country, that should be addressed by making your vote count in the elections. Not doing so is the same as having bought a car other than Rover and then complaining when they were "allowed" to go skint.
