New to MTB. Few pointers please. Rear mudguard etc...
Discussion
Hi guys,
As some of you know I got into Mountain biking recently. Realised today that Dudley, Wolverhampton and Wonbourne have some great trails in terms of disused railways etc.
Anyway, I have a Muckynutz rear butt fender thing and it's bloody useless to be honest. The front setup I have in terms of the Downtube and front fender combo is excellent. But the rear is hopeless.
Is a rear Mudhugger worth the outlay? It seems decent for the mud etc or when the weather gives in.
Also deciding whats the best cheap waterproof backpack to use. You guys have any recommendations? Decathlon seems to be good value for money.
And finally, do any of you pop to the shops now and then after a trail run or ride? What's the best compact or light bike lock you use to nip in for a few minutes?
Thanks

Not sure what you class as cheap, but in the past I've had several rucksacks fall apart. I use an Osprey one daily and it's very good quality. It also has a built-in hi viz rain cover, so good at keeping the water out.Currently on offer reduced to £45 from £100.
If you want cheaper, there are a bunch of other cheap offers here.
