anyone seen a 993 supercharger?
Discussion
I had posted a question about supercharging a 993 but having spoken to a notable specialist i will retract that.
The 993 engine runs at 11.3:1 compression - a bolt on supercharger even at low boost is never going to be a good idea.
The specialist concerned says he has rebuilt 993 engines before because of this very reason, though Techart did a supercharger conversion years ago for substantial money. Replacement pistons, rings, etc to drop compression significantly.
So i think i will stick to the motorsound airbox (available for 65 quid with a new air filter) and a sports exhaust in the near future.
