Have you ever asked yourself why did I hand my Caterham over to 'the experts' to sort.

My Superlight needed some work so I contacted .................. and he was happy to obliged .

He agreed to pick up the car on a Friday in March - waited in all day but the car wasn't picked up , instead he picked it up on Saturday.

In May I posted that my Superlight had been away for two months, I got a call from ..... ....... who asked if I could remove the post as it will give his company a bad rep !!!
That's back in March ..... it's now August and the Superlight is still not in my garage !

In the mean time I've bought an ex race Caterham, removed the cage, the data telemetry, the transponder, fitted a roll bar, carpets, seatbelts, added some stripes, probably spent 3 days working on the car AND now just sold the car. I don't have a full workshop and years of Caterham experience.

So to conclude if a non Caterham expert can transform an ex race car to a road going car in three days then sell it within three days to the first person who saw it - and he tore my car to bits ( he restores concourse winning 60's Ferraris ), howcome a respected garage can pick my 7 up in March and now it's August !

Sorry - rant over.

That is a very long time! No wonder your are not happy.

What work needed doing, what reason has the garage given for the delay.

Step 1 - collect car from said 'specialist'

Step 2 - post provable facts on FB/ Twitter where name and shame won't see the post removed.

Step 3 - optional - take court proceedings against specialist to recover losses.

Went in as the starter motor wasn't working and car was over heating.
.... It wasn't running rich too, they said their was also a knocking sound from the engine.

In the end this 'garage' gave up and handed the car to a garage who know about the K series engine.

Don't worry, I WILL name and shame on here, Facebook, and Blatchat, it was a bit of a joke when he quoted 4 hours to bemove a cage and fit a roll bar. I took me an hour and half.... and he charges £75/ hour !

As a passionate owner of Caterhams and various other marques ( Lotus , Porsche ) in 30 years it's always nice to share the pros and cons of 'marque specialists" and recommending people.
I've had a number of owners PM me asking who I've used and concerned about putting their trust in the hands of 'experts', and having spoken to several specialists ( Ferrari and Porsche ) and are NOT associated with Caterhams I feel I need to name the companies.
