New car pick up Bristol - Rugby. Roads?

Evening all,
Very late to ask I know, but picking a new car tomorrow in Bristol, routing to Rugby. I've driven the Motorway routes more times than I care to remember and have also kicked the arse out of the A46. I'm really after some gems. Clearly I've got the Cotswolds enroute, could stray into Wales, but don't want to penetrate too far West. I have all afternoon, so open to all suggestions. Weather is set fair, so looking forward to being able get to know the car.

How did you get on? I would have suggested the Fosse Way/Cotswolds, or all the way up the A361.

Hi, did exactly that but got as far as Cheltenham and got fed up with the traffic, opted for M5, A46. Pretty dull but I've had some fun since. Thanks anyway.
