Really struggling to find this information in order to check how worn my discs are. Does anybody know the original and minimum thickness as is typically stated when buying the discs?

If it's been used for any sort of spirited driving, you'll find they crack long before they wear out, so best to have a spare set standing by if you can. But they do last well.

Thanks, that's what Caterham said when I called, was quite surprised. Was planning to measure this afternoon but now pissing it down, seems odd no min data available anywhere? If it was printed on the outside edge of the disc I have little hope of finding that.

So fronts are about 17.3mm, rears are 10.1mm.

No cracks I could see but no idea whether they're good still or not smile Pads look pretty meaty still.

New they are around 18 mm but there are differences between batches ie my first set were 17.5 mm and the replacements 18.3 mm. They started to craze and then crack at 16 mm, so you have some life left.

New ones arrived today.

No min thickness stated on the front discs but start at 18mm.

Rears start at 10mm and min thickness stated of 8.3mm.

Ventilated discs I get for the subie, no matter who makes them or if they are very fancy floating discs or solid, all say that 2 mms thinner is the limit. So that's probably a safe place to start with a small light car. ie. ~16mm being the thickness to start getting paranoid about.

Caterham were going to call them and come back to me.

Now I've bought some anyway and I have the serial number on the box I'll do that myself next week.

You'd think it impossible that Caterham don't know the min disk thickness! Hopefully AP will know. You could also ask them (AP) why the vented disks crack!

Top hunting, thanks!

Caterham said they crack long before they wear out which, even if true, didn't really help me knowing how old my discs are smile

Thread save then! 18mm to 16.4mm it is!
