Cycling in Southern France/The Pyrenees

I'm off on a family holiday in early September to the South of France, near the Pyrenees, and was thinking I may take my kit and hire a bike and spend some days exploring. Does anyone have any recommendations by any chance? I will be staying around this area (i.e. close to the far East side of Spanish border), so the mountains aren't too far away.
