Geneva to St Tropez - Most enjoyable route
Discussion
I'm headed down to St Tropez from Geneva this Friday, and have the whole day to do it. Does anybody have any routes they'd recommend? An obvious option is the autoroute to Grenoble then the Route Napoleon to Cannes and back along the coast, but I've read good things about the Gorges du Verdon too so don't know if there's a good route through there. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
Literally drove yesterday some of the roads around there as currently holidaying on the coast.
My suggestion is avoid Route Napoleon, interesting for about two minutes although the scenery is top drawer.
Best road I've driven here is Col de Vence, it has everything. Hairpins (some well sighted too), long flowing sections and tight twisties. Plus it has a section of arches that I had to turn around and drive twice
Gorge Verdon is fab for scenery but very congested.
The coast roads have spectacular scenery and are good early morning but too many slow sections. Avoid unless the sea is your thing.
My 2p worth...
