Getting rid of a bed..

I'm getting a new bed on Saturday (woo hoo!) but what do i do with the old one?! It's only 2 years old and still in good condition (no comments about usage!) with a pull out bed under it, so i am reluctant to throw it away. Im not bothered about making £ from it, just dont want to waste it. Do any organisations pick them up and give them to people who need them?

Local hospice or charity shops may be interested.

There is an organistation that does it. I can't remember off hand, but I'm sure someone will post. If not I'll ask the Gf tonight as her parents recently had somthing similar done.

yes they do. I used to donate my stuff to a charity who will turn at your home with a tranny (a van, vixpy, a van!) and take it away to distribute to the needy.

If giving to charity shop , they may not take it if it's a KingSize bed. They didn't weant ours as it would be to big for most peoples house/flats who get their stuff.

So it ended up in the back of a dust cart and crushed to bits. ( it was falling apart anyway and alot older than 2 years old.

My mum and dad sold their 4fter a while ago, they had loads of calls about it - went in local paper, apparently, 4ft beds are quite rare ooerr

I'll bet they are, average height of a person has got to be at least 5'6" wouldn't you say?

Salvation Army etc will take it as long as the matress (and base if appropriate) has a fire standard label, otherwise they arent allowed to pass it on!
