Is there such a thing as an Amazon Fire stick in France? I have 'normal' freevliew, but my ISP won't give me the TV package I pay for because they say my internet speed isn't fast enough. In dact it is, and they just don'thave the technology installed in my local csbinet.

I could use a VPN to watch Amazon Prime or NowTV, but wondered if any of this tech has made it to l'Hexagone yet.

Not sure about France, but here in Austria both Netflix and Amazon Prime work fine but the content is different than UK.

Maybe worth a try and see what you get there, should be able to get free trials of both anyway. Also apparently Amazon and Netflix can cancel your account from using VPN's, I read something about it before but not sure if they actually enforce it or if its just to please the copywriters.

After the two high court judgements saying that streaming was illegal I decided to go for the big dish which should arrive this afternoon. I know lots of people have gone for the hidden VPN and Android boxes with Kodi but there is this question about legality and the ability of others to switch off what you are watching. The BBC have been fiddling with the Astra satellites for the last couple of years to try to prevent viewing from Europe but they have now done pretty much all they can do and for us a 1.25m dish still works fine and nobody else can interfere with it without switching off Scotland!

VPNs no longer work with Netflix. The buggers have clamped right down on them so we're stuck with the rubbish French selection now.

This is exactly my question. I WANT French telly, but I want more than the basic chanels 1-8. I already have UK telly channels.

I can't believe the French have no streaming optons like we do, but I'm buggered if I know what to look for.
