How many Pistonheaders know somebody who has contracted this disease in the UK?

I don't know anybody personally who has and I know alot of people. Just made me wonder how widespread it is ?

Don't know anyone, but 2 of my mates and I have all been tested over the last 10 years.

It's stupid some of the things I have done, but fortunately I am able to tell the stories that go with those stupid things without any worries.

One work colleague to my knowledge (I think our work health and safety had to tell people for some reason), but who knows when it comes to friends. I know that the sufferer I worked with contracted the disease through no fault of her own, and wasn't engaging in any high risk practices, so there is the scary thought it could happen to any of us.

At the beginning of each relationship I have gone to the clap clinic with the new girlfriend and we've both been tested for everything. Starting with a clean sheet. The only thing they found was the Hepatitis antibodies from my immunisation.

Don't they mind?

BB: "Hey Babe - you look hot! But before we get jiggy, let's book up down the clap clinic"

How you pull that off is a mystery to me... well done!

Hi Andy,

Could you clarify whether the 8 were diagnosed with AIDS or if they were just tested HIV +ve.

Also, of the two that died, do you know what the cause of death was? AIDS being a syndrome, can imply a variety of diseases.

Finally if you wouldn't mind, could you make any comment on the lifestyles of these people.

I'm sorry if I seems to be prying but as you can tell very few people have much contact with those diagnosed HIV, even fewer seem to know people that have died from AIDS.

I won't come back with any glib comments about any of these issues, I sincerely have an interest in HIV and AIDS and as some of you might know my views aren't shared by the majority.

If it's easier please feel free just to email through my profile. Everything in confidence.

Many thanks
Ex
