Paint Protection
Discussion
Have had both. The Gen 3 Glass coat (and Williams Ceramic) were both dealer offerings and Kamikaze and G Techniq I have had done at a professional detailer, all on different cars. In hindsight, I would view anything offered from a dealer as substandard to those offered by a professional detailer mainly on the basis that the dealer won't be anywhere near as competent at applying the coatings or the pre preparation. Both G Techniq and Kamikaze perform much better than the other 2 but I don't know how much of that is down to the initial application. Other threads on here will suggest G Techniq and Kamikaze (among others) are superior products and my experience would back that up. Also, a professional detailer will tell you which one is better for your car and situation. However, if I could do it again, and I shall in the future, I would spend a bit more and get the entire front done with paint protection film. These ceramic coatings won't offer any protection against stone chips. They're really best for a decent shine, some swirl protection and make cleaning much easier.
