Rockrider 340 - Any good for getting back into biking
Discussion
Hi,
Saw this for sale at Decathlon. Seemed like a decent bike by all accounts.
I'm not doing the tour de France. More just introducing my eldest son to the fun of biking at four years of age whilst riding alongside him.
I got him a Frog 48 today.
Any opinions as it can be picked up for £160 brand new?
Thanks

Decathlon's bikes are great value but even at budget level I'd recommend a triiger shifter version if possible instead of twist grips, nicer shifting and better quality.

+1 I wouldn't go for the bottom of the range, as the price reflects the quality of the parts. Plus it is the heaviest in the range due to these cheaper parts.https://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-520-mountain...
I would say go down to a decathlon store (you can ride them around inside) and try the 520,540 and other to see which you prefer.
I bought one for pretty much this exact reason. I've spent a good few hours going around Sherwood Pines on it just to se of it would fall apart.............it didn't. It's obviously a cheap bike made with cheap components but it's actually pretty decent to ride. If you're just using it to ride alongside your son it's perfect. I had no intention of riding it off road properly, now I have, I really wish I'd bought the next model up or the one above that.
